Revenue management consists in the dynamic adaptation of goods and services pricing in order to maximize profits.

The essence of this concept is estimating demand and price sensitivity at every moment in time, taking into account multiple factors such as the amount of product available, the number of days until an event, market characteristics, and sales channels. The discipline combines techniques for prediction, optimization and simulation in order to set the prices which will maximize revenue at the end of a campaign, paying particular attention to margins to avoid cannibalization.
