At the Sabadell Smart Congress on Friday 4 April, Pau Agulló, director of Kernel Analytics and president of BCN Analytics, made the first public presentation of the Smart BCN project that BCN Analytics will launch in June. BCN Analytics is a non-profit organization that aims to bring together the analytical community of Barcelona for the exchange of knowledge and experience. Moreover, the association’s goal is also to harness the talent, skill and energy of its members to make Barcelona a smarter city through advanced data analysis. BCN Analytics will provide geo-localized data on the population, businesses and public services in Barcelona (among other things) for free, in addition to providing the hardware (cloud), software (R), a GIS tool (Geographic Information System), and a knowledge-exchange platform for data analysts to use. BCN Analytics will be launched in June 2014. The Sabadell Smart Congress brings together different players in the Smart City sector to share their products, services and experiences.
